Immerse yourself in the history of Château d'Argences

And compose the rest.

17th c.

Château d'Argences was built in the 17th century in the commune of Argences in Calvados, Normandy.

1790

During the revolutionary turmoil, the Château d'Argences had a very special destiny. Seized as national property, it was auctioned off and acquired by an emblematic figure of French craftsmanship: Jean-Baptiste Odiot. This famous goldsmith, whose talent was recognized during the Empire and Restoration periods, thus became the owner of this house steeped in history.

October 4, 1932

The facades and roofs of Château d'Argences are listed as Historic Monuments.

1944

The west wing, which once completed the U-shaped courtyard, disappeared during the British bombing raids of the Second World War. A 1,000 kg bomb exploded in the washhouse, absorbing much of the shock and preserving the main body of the dwelling.
